Update

Hi everyone.

It's good to be back. For a moment at least.

To be honest, I've missed blogging. I've missed connecting with you all online and sharing my life with you.

Lately I've been volunteering, sewing for the hospital, reading more, enjoying family, helping making some films, and living life.

Things have been such a mix this year. I've had some really amazing things happen. Continuing to volunteer, family time, filming, etc. I've also had some hard thing come into my life. My Dad was diagnosed with a Cognitive illness, I've been struggling with discontentment, and trying to decide where God wants me.

It's been a year full of challenge and blessing. And through it all God has been there, loving me, helping me, showing me the way to go. Even though I've been confused, I've never been alone. Even though life has been difficult at times, I've always had the strength to get through. Even though I've cried out in pain and hurt and frustration, I've always found loving arms waiting to hold me.

I don't have it all together, but I'm becoming okay with that. The great thing is I know the one who does have it all together. And He doesn't need any competition.

So today, my goals are to enjoy the life I have and lean a little closer to the one who gave it to me.

God bless you, Rose

May Ministry Update

Wow, this month has been amazing.

Our whole family went on a trip to Washington D. C. and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

And the long car trip afforded me time to work on the nativity. I completed all of baby Jesus and I got quite a bit done on Mary.

It was good to have a vacation. I think one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much was that I made the decision not to worry about everything that I had left undone. You know what? That took so much stress off the whole trip. Now that I'm back home and the work is mounting, I'm trying to continue in that same attitude.

It's good to work hard and do your best, but stress can be avoided. What if we chose not to get stressed over life. What if we did our best and then rested in what God is doing inside us? Wouldn't it be amazing?

Let's try it, shall we? Let's chose not to get stressed. Let's chose to enjoy the work. Let's chose to live today to the full.

I'm Off!

I'm off to Film camp this week!
It's been a dream of mine for over a year now to learn how to make Christian films and participate in making a film. This week I get to do both.
God is not limited to just using our crafty talents to bless others. He can also use our film and acting talents. If you have a dream of acting or making a film, keep pursuing it! Keep following what God has placed in you heart. Keep doing what you know and let Him lead you. It will turn out better than you ever could have imagined.
And you can expect an update sometime in the next month for how the film camp went. God bless, Rose

An Overdue Update on Co-op

Co-op is over.  Teaching was such a wonderful opportunity and I’m glad that God gave me the chance to grow this way.
Teaching actually ended up being easier than I thought. Before I started teaching at co-op I thought solo teaching was the last thing that I would do. I was scared that I would mess up. But once I had done my first lesson, I found out that it was easier than I thought and that I enjoyed sharing with my students what I had learned.
Teaching also allowed me to get to know some wonderful girls who I probably would have never gotten to know otherwise. I didn’t just get to teach, I got to know my students. That was a great blessing.
One of the most touching things was on the last day of co-op. My students surprised me by giving me presents and cards. I could tell that they came from their hearts. It made all the work, planning, running around, hard moments, and teaching worth it. To know that I had made a difference in their lives was wonderful.
So where is God going to take this gift? I don’t know all the answers. But wherever He takes me I know that it will be good.

Ministry Update: Co-op

On Thursday I completed my first semester of co-op. Here are just a few things that God has allowed me to do (ministry wise).

1. I got to teach five girls some homemaking arts

2. I got to sing and bless some people.

3. I got write not only in the co-op newsletter, but I also got to write an adaptation of a book in play form that is going to be produced.

4. I got to give cards and gifts to people who were having birthdays and to my secret sister.

5. I got to be the hands and feet of Christ many times.

Through one ministry I have gotten to do many little ministries. And that has been a blessing.
