Poem # 5

Could it be?

Could it be that you’ve loved me so I could love you?
Could it be that you’ve called me so I could call you?
Could it be that you’ve known me so I could know you?
Could it be that God chose this foolish heart to shame the wise?
Could it be that God chose this girl to shame the mighty?
Could it be that God chose this weak vessel to shame the strong?
Oh, could it be?

Poem # 4

What We Face

We may face hardship.
We may face adversity.
We may face failure.
But it won’t crush us.

Through God we will rise.
Through God we will conquer.
Through God we will have victory.
Through God we will soar like an eagle.
Through God we can and will do all things.

2nd Blog Birthday

Happy Birthday to this little blog of mine!
Can you believe that it has been two years since we started exploring ministry?

God has certainly taken us on some amazing journeys.
And where will He take us from here? I have no idea, but I know that wherever it is will be good.

Poem # 3

I Will Press On

Even though the mountain is steep and the rocks sharp
I will press on.
I will walk the path I was destined to walk.
I will travel the way that God leads, no matter the cost.
I will press on to the summit.
There I will worship on God’s Mountain.
I will hold fast to His promises of love and strength.
I will press on, no matter what it takes,
I will press on.

Poem # 2

Relaxed Tools

The brush, the pin, and the needle.
All these can be used to tell a story.
One can paint a masterpiece to be admired,
One can write a tale that holds readers in awe,
Or stitch thread to make a picture.
On there own these things can do nothing,
But when they are surrendered to the hands of the Master,
They can be used to make beautiful things.

So it is with us.
We can never write a story like God can,
We can never paint a picture like He can,
We can never guide the thread as masterfully as God can.
But if we surrender ourselves to the Master,
He will do wonders with us.
What are His words to us in this process?
He leans over and before He picks us up He says,
“Just relax.”

Poems For You

Here are some poems that have been sitting on my computer for years. But they are coming into the light. Over the next month I'll be sharing them with you. My prayer is that these free verse poems will be a blessing to you.

The Canvas

Here I stand, a blank canvas before God.
What was one a tattered mess,
He has sewn together.
I stand here a new canvas waiting to be painted on.
Slowly He takes up the brush.
Then a wonder unfolds.
Stroke after stroke He paints.
What was once in chaos comes alive with color.
What was once pain bursts forth with beauty.
Here I stand a painting not yet finished,
But under the care of the master Painter.
