Five years ago today I published my first blog post on Homemade Ministry.
It's amazing to me to watch and see what God has done not just in the blogging world, but in many other areas of my life.
In recent years I haven't blogged so much. Life and many adventures have prevented me from blogging regularly.
I'm happy to say that God has grown and shaped me so much in the last five years. When I think back to that 18-year-old who had so many big dreams and hopes, I smile. She had no idea how God was preparing to not only fulfill her dreams, but change her to be more like Himself.
It's been a wonderful and exciting journey. As I enter this next phase of my life, I would like to get back into the habit of blogging. I miss posting thoughts and happenings for us all to share.
Looking back I can see all the amazing and awesome things that God has done for me. Looking forward I know He will continue to be faithful and guide me.
See you again soon, Rose

When It's Time To Change
Dear Friends,
Wow, this blog has been an amazing journey for me. Being able to help girls in their ministry has been a wonderful blessing.
Yet I feel like God has been leading me to move on to others things. To enjoy the journey He has me on right now, not focus on the previous one. So I won't be posting regularly here. You might see some book reviews, but mostly I'm not going to be around.
My prayer is that you have been encouraged to start doing ministry at home and that it will continue to grow and flourish. Continue it what you have begun.
Pleasant journey, Rose

Ministry Assignment: Blogging
In 2010 I began this little blog of mine. And with a few
clicks, I began my blogging adventures. This adventure has taken many twists
and turns.
Now over two years later, I have two blogs of my own (plus a
play blog), I’m on the MOHL team of writers, I’ve been a contributor for
Virtuous Girlhood, and I occasionally write articles for other blogs. It
defiantly keeps me busy, but I enjoy it.
I enjoy writing about what God has taught me. I enjoy
sharing about my life with others. I enjoy encouraging people in their journey.
Blogging takes a lot of work and thought. It takes time, but
it’s worth it. It’s worth it for the people that are touched. So I keep
blogging for Him to encourage the saints.

The Story
Since we celebrated the 2nd Birthday of Homemade Ministry earlier this spring, I thought that you would like to hear a little bit about how Homemade Ministry began. Here goes …
When I was getting ready to graduate high school, I knew that I wanted to do more ministry work when I finished school. I had always loved making things with my hands and wanted to use these talents to help others.
The only thing was I didn’t know any ministries that took handcrafted items. I wanted make blankets to give to babies in the hospital, but I was clueless as to where to give them.
Then one day as we were talking to some ladies that work at our library they started talking about a charity that they gave to called The Linus Connection. They made blankets, and then they would give them to this charity, that would then give them to kids in need. It was perfect. I had found a place to make blankets for.
So I began working. I would make blankets and then give them to the ladies at the library, who would give them to charity. It was so exciting. I now had a place to make blankets for.
After a while, I wanted to find other ministries that would take things for preemie babies since I had a heart for babies. So I did some research on the internet. I did find several really neat ministries and charities, but I had to do a lot of research to find the good ones. I became frustrated with dead ends or ministry links that were no good.
So two years ago I started this blog called Homemade Ministry. It’s a blog where you can find out information about charities that need homemade things. I check out all these charities and then post a little bit about them with a link back to them. The idea is that you will find ministries quickly and easily, and to save people the trouble of having to do the research that I did.
Since then I continue to keep crocheting and blogging. God continually helps me. I continue to work and write. There always seems to be things to do and new ways to serve.
But for each new task God always provides strength. He helps me continue in my Homemade Ministry.

2nd Blog Birthday
Happy Birthday to this little blog of mine!
Can you believe that it has been two years since we started exploring ministry?
God has certainly taken us on some amazing journeys.
And where will He take us from here? I have no idea, but I know that wherever it is will be good.
In Him, Rose

The Name
Homemade Ministry
It’s been over a year and a half since I started this blog. Wow! Time flies. It’s amazing what God does in your life.
Yet in all that time I realized I had never done a post on why I decided to call this blog Homemade Ministry.
As you have noticed I focus on hands on ministries. I love finding out about things that you can do from home, yet still bless others.
The title is what I try to do every day. I try to make ministry from home (thus the name).
What about you? What do think of the name?

Ministry Month Challenge Day 19
Today I'm going to be writing a ton of blog posts and helping my mom in the kitchen. It will be a busy day, but fun.

Ministry Month Challenge Day 14
I was sort of lazy today. I've done some cleaning, cooking, preparing for another day of co-op, answering e-mails, (listening to some fun music) and blog reading. Nothing that I could count for the ministry month challenge. Maybe I'll do something this evening. Anyway I thought that I would write and let you guys know what is going on.

Gratefulness Challenge: Day 17 & 18
I'm sorry I wasn't feeling good yesterday, so I'm doubling up again today.
I'm grateful for medicine and family to help ease the pain when I'm sick.
I'm grateful for work. Sometimes it seems like theres too much to do. Cleaning, blogging, teaching, Bible reading, craft projects, reading, family stuff, and e-mail. But I'm grateful that I have things to keep me busy. That I'm not so board that I get into trouble. :)
