I Got Two Blog Awards!

I was awarded two blog awards from Julia  Thank you so much! :)

So for both awards I have to post 7 random things about myself and then award five other bloggers each other these awards.

So 7 things about me.

1. I love chocolate!

2. Although I love chatting with friends on Facebook and e-mail, I also love reading and sending handwritten letters. Phone talks are also something I love.

3. I've never been out of the country, but if I ever do I would love to go to Hallstatt Austria.

4. I've worked as an election clerk.

5. I love to take long walks in the woods behind our house.

6. I love to bake. Muffins, cookies, and cakes are some of my favorites.

7. I teach at Christian homeschool co-op.

So now I tag five people for each award. :)

Thank you so much Julia for this award.
To all of you who were awarded, you post these awards, come up with 7 random things about yourself, and pick five other bloggers to receive that award.

God bless, Rose

Tips & Hints Part 1

For the next month I’m going to be sharing with you some suggestions for little things that you can do as part of you ministry.

From Any Soldier

Here’s a tip from our friends at Any Soldier

Next time you send out a care package to the troops, here’s a little something extra that you can put it the box.

Beanie Babies!
No kidding! A really good excuse to get rid of those things (don't buy new ones, collect them from your house and ask your friends)!! Send some in every package to ALL units as they are really easy for the Soldiers to carry with them and give to the local kids who love them. These are better than small plastic toys which will break easily and are not as easy to carry in a pack. There is NO more effective ambassador for our country than a Soldier helping the local folks. This is done far more often than the press shows, and quite probably the most important thing a Soldier will ever do.

For more information on care packages and how you can help soldiers go to www.anysoldier.com

Note: Be sure to check the charity that you are sending your care packages through. Some sites don't take stuffed animals.

New Ministry!

I found another ministry that helps wounded soldiers. Although I have some ministries that help out our servicemen and women, this one targets wounded soldiers and tries to help them. Check them out on the Ministries Page!

Leave the Rose

          By Rose H.
I stopped to smell a rose. The soft petals tickled my cheeks and its sweet fragrance filled my senses.
“It’s beautiful,” I whispered to God.
“I put it here just for you.” He answered softly.
It was so lovely I wanted to pick it and take it with me. I gazed at the flower thinking at how beautiful it was.

But then I remembered that someone else would probably pass by that same place. If I picked this flower, then they wouldn’t be able to enjoy it. Then what would brighten their day as mine had been?
So I left the rose, so that all could enjoy it.
Wherever you go and whatever you do, leave lovely fragrances there. So that those who come behind you can be blessed.

Encouragement Verse

Here's a little something to encourage you today.

Romans 15:17-19 (NIV) Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done -- by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit.
