Blog Birthday

I had to go look it up in my journal to be sure.

March 19th was my 1st blog birthday. So happy birthday to my little blog.

God has been good and it's only by His grace and love that I've been able to come this far.

     So the rules are that I have to post 7 random things about myself and than I pick 7 people to receive this award.

1. I like roses. I know that may come as a great shock, but I really like them.

2. I like wearing clip earrings. They are so cute and pretty.

3. I like horseback riding. I don't like taking care of the horses, but riding is fun.

4. I prefer reading spiritual books to fiction (most of the time). :)

5. I named my laptop Tilly.

6. I love to sing.

7. My favorite conversations are those that I have with my Savior. He is so good and loving. I couldn't live without Him.

Brighten Your Corner

We cannot all be on famous or listed in “Who’s Who,”

But every person, great or small, has work to do.

For seldom do we realize the importance of small deeds

Or to what degree of greatness unnoticed kindness leads,

For it’s not the big celebrity in the world of fame and praise,

But it’s doing unpretentiously in distinguishing ways

The work that God assigned to us, unimportant as it seems,

That makes our task fulfilling and brings reality to dreams.

So do not sit and idly wish for wider, new dimensions

Where you can put in practice your many intentions,

But at the spot God placed you, begin at once to do

Little things to brighten the lives of those around you.

If everybody brightened up the spot where they’re standing,

By being more considerate and a little less demanding,

This dark old world would soon eclipse the evening star,

If everybody brightened up the corner where they are.

So I’ve spent 30 days talking about what I’m grateful for. It’s been hard at times, once you get through the obvious you have to look deeper.

But this has been a great blessing. Sometimes I get so focused on my needs, my wants, my schedule, that I forget to look at the blessings I have.

This has been a good chance to remember what I have.

And I pray that as you have traveled with me you have been encouraged to be grateful for all the things you have.

I'm grateful for the gifts and talents God has given as well as the resources to use them.

I'm grateful for neighbors. I may have said it before, but I'll say it again.
I just spent two hours with my family talking to a neighbor. She was kind and amazing. She's just had a battle with cancer and seems to be beating it. But she maintains a cheerful attitude through everything.
God has blessed us with some great neighbors.

Wow! Day 28. And you still find so many things to be grateful for. His mercies are truly new every morning.
I'm grateful for scrapbooks. I love taking pictures and keepsakes from my life and making them into beautiful books that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

I'm grateful for computer games. It's nice to have something to relax with you aren't feeling well or something to help you take some time off.

I'm grateful for dolls, bears, and cute stuffed animals. They add such a cute touch to my room and make me smile.

Sorry that I haven't been posting the last few days. I've been recovering from the flu, and you know how that goes.

I'm grateful for dogs. When you live in the country like we do they are more than fun to play with, they help protect the land from unwanted guests.

I'm grateful that God is faithful, never changing, and loving.

I'm grateful for jewelry. It adds such a nice touch to my outfits.

I'm grateful for hot water. Showers are such a blessing.

I'm grateful for a warm bed. At the end of a long day, there's nothing like curling up in my bed and relax.

I'm grateful for a car. I like walking, but if I had to walk everywhere, I think I would just stay home.

I'm grateful for my laptop. I can get so much more work done and it's got fun games to boot. :)
